Warner Records Remove Estelle Album From iTunes

Warner Records have removed Estelle's latest album from iTunes in an apparent bid to force people to grease one's palms the album on CD.

The decision, which is exclusively enforced on the US store, is designed to encourage fans to buy the complete album rather than downloading individual tracks.

'Shine', which was released earlier this year, has plummeted to number 159 on the Billboard Chart as a result of the move.

Single 'American Boy' has likewise suffered a fall in sales, dropping out of iTunes top-10 list of most popular tracks chart.

A spokesman for the record label told the Wall Street Journal that the removal is one of a host of new initiatives "uniquely tailored to each artist and their fanbase in an effort to optimise revenues and promote long-run artist development".

At this stage, it's not realise whether the decision testament be implemented in whatever other countries.

As well as existence unrivalled of the ablest solo turntablists on the world, Cut Chemist is too a member of two highly rated crews: tube rap kings Jurassic 5 and the Los Angeles Latin casimir Funk circle Ozomatli. He came up with the L.A. hip-hop radical Unity Committee, and debuted on rise with the B-side of UC's 1993 single "Incorporate Rebelution." The running "Lesson 4: The Radio" was a protection to and continuation of Double D and Steinski's seminal hip-hop collage masterpiece "Lessons 13," and included nods to Indeep, Bob James, Spoonie Gee, and Dan Ackroyd.

Before long later the record's vent, Unity Committee came unitedly with some other group, Rebels of Rhythm, to cast Jurassic 5. Cut Chemist kept rather busy with the chemical group, contributing "Moral 6" to the group's eponymous EP and producing the entire record book. He too delved into remixing (DJ Shadow, Liquid Liquid) and outside bring (scrape for Less Than Jake; coming into court with Ozomatli). In mid-1997, Cut Chemist recorded his record album debut, Live at the Future Primitive Sound Session, with Shortkut of Invisibl Skratch Piklz. In 1999, he teamed up with DJ Shadow and performed a series of events in San Francisco. Brainfreeze is a live transcription of a rehearsal for one of those shows, and became a popular and hard to chance record album. In 2001, the duet followed up their late success with Product Placement, a studio record book that stylistically followed the pattern of Brainfreeze (deuce foresighted tracks, two DJs). In 2004, Cut Chemist issued Litmus test Test, a remixed ingathering of his late work. It was followed in 2006 by The Audience's Listening. His tracks have besides appeared on two seminal turntablist compilations, Repay of the DJ, Vol. 1 and Deep Concentration.

By the final stage of the nineties, Sasha and John Digweed had become deuce of the to the highest level recognised DJs in the world. A widespread interest group in a way of up-tempo electronic music ladle in synth melodies and pumping beatniks known as trance (or less ofttimes as progressive trance) propelled the British DJs to worldwide celebrity on with peers such as Paul Van Dyk and Paul Oakenfold. As trance began to hit its eyeshade, both DJs began to diversify their cartroad blame in an effort to avoid organism pigeonholed as specifically trance DJs. Whereas their early mix CDs defined the sound of trance for the mid-'90s, they short took the situation as deuce of the genre's leadership, continually focalization on the latest records and evolving sounds of producers such as Breeder spell staying unfeigned to their musical roots.

Earlier they became pinups for the trance generation, the deuce had already been successful DJs and -- to a lesser degree -- producers. Their noted partnership began in 1993 patch both were spinning at the Manchester club Renaissance. As the iI DJs began to hone their admixture and meliorate their cartroad selections, increasing numbers racket of clubbers began to counterpane the word about the duo's euphony. Sasha + Digweed released a fuse album highborn Renascence in 1994 and began their steady rise to celebrity. It wasn't until the 1996 acquittance of Northerly Exposure that Sasha + Digweed began to truly be acknowledged as wizard DJs. The album's success light-emitting diode to several more and more successful sequels (Expeditions, Communicate) that defined the sound of trance in the late '90s, paralleling the Global Underground and Tranceport series in footing of popularity.

In the late '90s, the deuce DJs began their invasion of the U.S. with a high profile monthly residency at Twilo in New York City, along with more immix CDs as individuals. In addition to the residence, the dyad sporadically toured the U.S. and found themselves the topic of many articles and cover stories in magazines such as Urb and Mixer. An all-embracing tour of the U.S. in 2000 to supporting Commune only coagulated their condition as deuce of the near loved (and scorned) DJs in the world.

As if their reputation as the world's to the highest degree illustrious tag-teaming DJs wasn't sufficiency, Sasha + Digweed too get their own music and are recognized as prized remixers. Sasha's Xpander EP showcased his bent for creating some of the best trance epics the writing style has ever seen, while his remix of the Chemical Brothers' "Out of Control" re-established his role as a talented remixer. Similarly, Digweed on occasion produces music as Bedrock, marking an enormous hit with his hymn "Heaven Scent."

Patch the iI DJs increasingly focused on production and retaining their condition as superstars, they lento began to err apart, appearance less often as a duet. Sasha continued exploit on a long-awaited solo album, and Digweed focussed on his Bedrock club night in the U.K. [See Also: John Digweed, Sasha]
